Part 1 of the 2-part "Superhuman Like You," featuring the snazzy art of hot new penciller Kaare Andrews (GEN13 ANNUAL 2000). The Gen13 kids get a taste of the colorful and bizarre "paranormal scene" in , which has become the newest mecca for the "young, hot and gen-active." Since most of the issue takes place in a hotel bar, it runs a gauntlet of bad pickup lines, overpriced drinks, and laughably pretentious conversations... until, as is usually the case when superhumans gather, superhuman violence erupts! Look out!

Following Leslie's invitation, Bobby brings his friends to an exclusive party for Gen-actives. Leslie introduces Gen 13 to her friends: Nate, Sadie and Tommy.

Sarah orders a whiskey sour, but is unable to get the drink she wants.

Sadie uses her superpower to displace her alcoholic inebriation onto Nate and Caitlin to facilitate their flirtation.

A group of Gen-actives with telepathic abilities (the brothers of the telepath Bobby and Leslie encountered in the previous issue) alter the neurochemistry of the two teams, inciting them to antagonize and ultimately fight each other.

Bliss and Threshold do not appear in the story.
